Maritime Resource and Blue Economy: Scopes and Challenges

To foster the blue growth and sustainable marine resource management it is necessary to compile the existing knowledge of different organizations on maritime resources of Bangladesh. In addition, how internationally these issues are addressed also need to understand. Therefore, Department of Oceanography at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh is going to organize an international symposium on “Maritime Resource and Blue Economy: Scopes and Challenges”. The objectives of the symposium is include bring national and international experts of maritime sector from different background (academics, researchers, government officials, CSOs, INGOs and early carrier researchers) to share their knowledge on how to secure maximum benefits of blue economy through marine resource management in sustainable way. This symposium will also provide guidelines for the future management strategies of maritime resources of Bangladesh. The symposium will cover marine fisheries and maricultural potentialities and challenges, climate change issues in blue economy development, marine spatial plan and conservation, opportunities for investors in blue economy, maritime pollution, gender issues in blue economy, ocean monitoring for sustainable blue growth and nature based solution for blue economy.
The symposium will be held between 24th March 2023 and 25th March 2023 in SUST. We will invite relevant national academics, researchers, government officials, CSOs, INGOs) and international experts (academicians, researchers and early carrier researchers) to give talks on the different areas of symposium.
